Statistical analysis of the influence of body height of ATP players on the success of their game
Nechanický, Michal ; Kočíb, Tomáš (advisor) ; Carboch, Jan (referee)
Title: Statistical analysis of the influence of body height of ATP players on the success of their game Objectives: The aim of my bachelor's thesis is to determine whether a player's body height affects his position in the ATP rankings and whether it affects the effectiveness of his serve. At the same time, I will investigate the possible influence of surfaces on player's serve statistics and his position in the ATP rankings. Methods: The mentioned monitoring was determined on a sample of TOP 200 players of the ATP ranking. Mathematical-statistical analysis of the data was carried out by collecting the data reported on the official ATP website. The results of my investigation were compared with similar characteristics of selected professional literature. Results: Mathematical-statistical analysis showed a loose correlation between a player's body height and his position in the ATP rankings. Furthermore, a stronger correlation was shown between serve statistics and ranking and between serve statistics and player height. This correlation changes with the type of surface, where the most closeness to the player's position in the ATP ranking or his body height is shown by the serve statistics of the player serving on a hard surface. Toman, Jiří ; Vorálek, Rostislav (advisor) ; Petružela, Jan (referee)
Title: Evaluation of the Success of selected game skills in mens Volleyball extraleague Keywords: volleyball, serve, pass, success, player, team Objectives: The primary goal of this bachelor's thesis, was to comparison of two types of serves, namely jump float and jump spin serves and in addition, comparison of its passes. The secondary objective was the analysis of these two serves and reception of the ball which were assessted based on a scale of serve and a pass. Methods: To construct the analysis, data was collected and imputed to table using strokes. The data was obteined by closely monitoring games from match recordings. Furthermore, in order to analyse the data correctly, the game had to be split into individual sections of serves, passes and subsequent sets. The last method that was used in this work was the evaluatin scale, both for serves and passes. Results: The results were noted for clarity in graphs and tables, where they were commented.

Hanzlík, David ; Kočíb, Tomáš (advisor) ; Carboch, Jan (referee)
Title: Junior tennis technique The bachelor's thesis analyzes the technique of shots among junior tennis players, in particular intermediate and advanced players (both males and females) aged between 11 and 15 years of age. It focuses on three basic shots in tennis: forehand, backhand and serve as those are the most frequent shots in the game. This thesis describes individual parts of the research and highlights methods being video recording, testing, observation. With the help of video the thesis analyzes particular details of the level of skill of the shot making of individual players. Objectives: Analysis and evaluation of forehand, backhand and serve technique between tennis players in tennis school. Methods: Video analysis, observation and testing method Results: Based upon the findings, we can conclude that shot making success rate was much higher than that of efficiency amongst the players. As far as technical execution of the shots goes, players had better rating in backhands than forehands. However, efficiency was better in forehand shots. The worst aspect was the serve where technical execution as well as efficiency was far worse than that of backhands and forehands among half the players analyzed. The most common mistakes were: wrong or inadequate use of the center of gravity,...
Kinematic Analysis of Tennis Serve
Havel, Michal ; Kočíb, Tomáš (advisor) ; Čichoň, Rostislav (referee)
Title: Kinematic Analysis of Tennis Serve. Objectives: To evaluate tennis serve realization in the selected performance category, to review speed of particular serve types and define the differences. To create detailed movement analysis of the slice serve from the right side of the court and set up a trajectory of the centre of gravity. Methods: Case study using kinematic 2D and 3D analysis was made. Results: We found out that the flat serve is the fastest type of serve. There are differences in the body centre of gravity trajectory by comparison with elite tennis players. We also found out that serving from the right side of the court is being hit higher, than from the left side. We assume there is a very close connection between serve speed and the point of impact. Ďurčo, Dominik ; Carboch, Jan (advisor) ; Petružela, Jan (referee)
Title: Visual constrains in badminton serve Objectives: Main goal of this bachleor's theses was to examine whether and to what extent does the visual feedback influences short badminton serve, whether the accuracy and success rate will change. Methods: Data were obtained experimentally, later evaluated by the method of indirect observation - video analysis. Ten players were tested. Each player was subjected to four tests. The first serve test was with occlusion, the player's vision was occluded at the moment of contact of the shuttlecock with the racket using the occlusion glasses that the players wore. The second and third tests were performed under normal conditions. The last test was the same as the first test with occlusion. Results: By comparing the average distances of the shuttlecock impact points between the short backhand serve tests in badminton, a statistically significant effect of visual feedback p = 0.04 on the accuracy of short serve was demonstrated. In the occlusion tests, the average distance between the line and the point of impact of the shuttlecock was 32.5 ± 23.9 cm and under normal conditions 27.7 ± 20.8 cm. The difference between number of fouls under two conditions was only 1.5%, with more foul attempts being recorded in the tests under normal conditions. Keywords:...
